Closure of the Fango, Bonifato, and western part of the Agriate Territory forested areas.

Due to the "forest fire" risk assessed as very severe in the Forest Fires 217 "Balagne" zone by Météo-France services, for tomorrow, Wednesday 19 August 2026.

Access to trails and unsealed roads in the Fango massif, the Bonifato forest, and the western part of the Agriate Territory is prohibited for people and vehicles

on Wednesday 19 August 2026 from 00:00 to 23:59.

The population is urged to adopt the following preventive behaviors:

* strictly respect the ban on open fires and the closure of the aforementioned massifs,

* use your vehicle only on authorized paths,

* limit your movements in non-closed massifs,

* do not have barbecues in the forest,

* Camp only in authorized, secure, and protected areas,

* Do not smoke in wooded areas or nearby. Do not discard cigarette butts through your car window.

All services involved in preventing and fighting forest fires are mobilized and supported by national reinforcements.

Anyone witnessing a fire is requested to alert the firefighters as soon as possible by calling 18 or 112 (free call).

Similarly, it is recommended to report any suspicious behaviour to the security forces (gendarmerie and police), which fully participate in the "forest fires" operation. In the context of combating fire pressure, gendarmes and police may carry out road checks, including opening and searching vehicle trunks, at the request of the Public Prosecutor during this period.
