DUE TO THE VERY HIGH RISK OF FOREST FIRE IN BALAGNE

Closure of the forest massifs of Fango, Bonifato, and the western part of the Territoire des Agriates.

Due to the "forest fire" risk assessed as very severe in the Forest Fires Zone 217 "Balagne" by Météo-France services, for tomorrow, Thursday 23 July 2026:

Access to trails and unsealed roads in the Fango massif, the Bonifato forest, and the western part of the Agriate Territory is prohibited for people and vehicles

on Thursday 23 July 2026 from 00:00 to 23:59.

The population is urged to adopt the following preventive measures:

strictly respect the ban on open fire and the closure of the aforementioned massifs,

use your vehicle only on authorized paths,

limit your movements in non-closed massifs,

do not have barbecues in the forest,

camp only in authorized, secure, and protected areas.

Do not smoke in wooded areas or nearby. Do not throw cigarette butts out of your car window.

All services involved in forest fire prevention and fighting are mobilized and supported by national reinforcements.

Anyone witnessing a fire is requested to alert the firefighters as soon as possible by calling 18 or 112 (free call).

Similarly, it is recommended to report any suspicious behaviour to the security forces (gendarmerie and police), which fully participate in the "forest fires" operation. In this context, gendarmes and police, upon requisition by the Public Prosecutor, may carry out road checks, including opening and searching vehicle trunks, during this period.
