Particular risks:

Symptoms of heatstroke:

• Fever exceeding 40°C
• Hot, red, and dry skin
• Headache, nausea, drowsiness
• Intense thirst, confusion, convulsions, loss of consciousness

Prevention measures:

• Drink water several times a day
• Continue to eat normally
• Wet your body with a misting spray, a damp washcloth, or lukewarm showers/baths
• Avoid going outside between 11 a.m. and 9 p.m., the hottest hours
• If you must go outside, wear a hat and lightweight clothing
• Go to a cool or air-conditioned place two to three hours per day, while maintaining physical distancing and barrier gestures
• Limit physical and sports activities
• Close shutters, curtains, and windows during the day
• Ventilate your home at night

Support for vulnerable individuals:

• Check in on them or visit them if they are elderly, have chronic illnesses, or are isolated
• Accompany them to a cool place
• If they feel unwell or show changes in behavior, call a doctor
