Situation report as of 29 September 2026 at 17:30

The department is also under an orange weather warning for flooding; the affected watercourses are:

* Gardon d'Alès,

* Gardon d'Anduze,

* Upper Cèze,

* Upper Hérault

The department is also under a yellow weather warning for flooding; the affected watercourses are:

* Lower Gardon,

* Combined Gardon,

* Lower Cèze,

* Dourbie,

* Vidourle.

During the night from Tuesday to Wednesday, this rainstorm and thunderstorm phenomenon will first affect the Cévennes, then spread to the Cévenol foothills in the morning of Wednesday, before reaching the plains across the entire department for the remainder of Wednesday.

On the high ground: The rains already observed on Tuesday 29 September will significantly intensify during the night from Tuesday to Wednesday and on Wednesday morning over the Cévennes high ground, continuing through Wednesday afternoon. Rainfall intensities could be particularly strong, with 50 to 80 mm possible in one hour. Total rainfall accumulations could reach 200 to 250 mm, locally up to 300 mm over the duration of the event.

In the plains: Wednesday afternoon, the unstable weather system is expected to shift toward the plains. Given the high rainfall intensities—around 50 to 80 mm in one hour—and the risk of stagnation\*, local rainfall totals could reach 150 mm.

As a result, school transportation will not be provided on Wednesday.

#### Public Instructions

* Limit your travel and check current traffic conditions.

* Take shelter in a solid building and stay away from trees.

* Check conditions before undertaking any travel or outdoor activity.

* Avoid areas near watercourses.

* Under no circumstances walk or drive on a flooded road or near a watercourse.
