#### Météo France has placed the department of Bouches-du-Rhône under an orange weather warning for the "rain-flooding" parameter and a yellow weather warning for the "thunderstorms" parameter, effective from 12:00 PM on Wednesday, 30 September 2026.

The Météo France bulletin

Stationary heavy thunderstorms are ongoing during the day in the departments of Hérault and Gard. These heavy rainfall events (sometimes up to 50 mm/h) may overflow into Bouches-du-Rhône during the day, leading to significant rainfall accumulations, particularly in the Camargue region. In the evening and overnight, showers will move through and affect the eastern part of the department; intensities may be locally strong, but no stationary conditions are expected. Showers will become significantly calmer by late morning. West of Etang de Berre, widespread areas may experience accumulations of 70 to 100 mm, locally up to 150 mm. East of Etang de Berre, local accumulations of 50 to 80 mm are expected.

The Prefect of Bouches-du-Rhône reminds everyone of the safety guidelines to ensure the safety of all:

* Limit your travel. If you absolutely must drive, never enter a flooded road, even partially or exposed to waves.

* Avoid walking or driving near the sea and stay away from exposed structures (pier, breakwaters…)

* Be especially vigilant if you are engaging in outdoor activities near a river or the coastline. Avoid going to sea or engaging in nautical activities.

* Do not enter basements, cellars or underground parking areas.

* Stay away from trees, rivers, and low-lying areas prone to rapid flooding.

* Shelter people, animals, and property exposed before the arrival of the storm.

* Secure or fasten objects that could be blown away by the wind, and protect belongings that could be damaged by heavy rain.

* Campers and guests at outdoor accommodations are asked to follow instructions from site managers and to quickly seek safety if weather conditions deteriorate.

* Check your boat's mooring; do not remain on board.
