Road works in progress on road axes

Find the construction sites managed by the interdepartmental road direction East (DIR Est) currently underway in the department.

A33 – Road surface rehabilitation and concrete crash barrier installation near Rosières-aux-Salines

To improve safety and the quality of road infrastructure on the A33, works will be carried out near Rosières-aux-Salines (54) from Monday, 20 July to Friday, 2 October 2026, at a total cost of 2.45 million euros funded by the Grand Est Region.

These works are carried out by the Interdepartmental Road Directorate East, under the responsibility of the Grand Est Region, which has provided the necessary resources since 1 January 2025 to make this route safer and better adapted to the needs of residents and businesses.

They will take place on the A33, on the section known as "Côte de Rosières-aux-Salines" up to the Meurthe structure, and will be implemented in two phases:

* From 31 August to 2 October, with road surface reconstruction in the direction from Nancy to Strasbourg. Traffic in the Nancy to Strasbourg direction will be diverted to the opposite carriageway. The entrance ramp to the A33 towards Strasbourg at the Saint-Nicolas-de-Port interchange, as well as the exit ramp from the A33 at the Rosières-aux-Salines interchange, will be closed and diverted.

A31 – Closure of ramps at interchange 21 near Champigneulles

To ensure daily safety and traffic quality on the A31, ongoing works are being carried out at Champigneulles (54) for the reconstruction of a structure.

These works, lasting 7 months (from April to October 2026), are being carried out by the Interdepartmental Road Directorate East, which has been under the responsibility of the Grand Est Region since 1 January 2025.

A31 – Repairs to a bridge structure and resurfacing works at Champigneulles

To ensure daily safety and traffic quality on the A31, repairs to a bridge structure at Champigneulles (54) will take place starting Monday 13 April 2026 for a projected duration of 6 months, at a total cost of 2.2 million euros funded by the Grand Est Region.

These works are being carried out by the Interdepartmental Road Directorate East, under the responsibility of the Grand Est Region, which has since 1 January 2025 provided the necessary resources to make this route safer and better adapted to the needs of residents and businesses.

Temporary nighttime traffic closures will be implemented on the A31 and D657, between April and October 2026 (specific dates will be communicated later).

Outside of nighttime works, traffic lanes on the A31 and D657 will remain fully open during the day.

A33 – Speed limit reduced to 90 km/h near Rosières-aux-Salines

Due to progressive road deterioration (potholes and depressions in the driving lanes) and considering the sensitive road profile (marked curves and gradient), to ensure user safety, the speed limit is reduced to 90 km/h in the direction Nancy to Strasbourg, within the municipality of Rosières-aux-Salines.

Corrective works for complete road and central reservation barrier reconstruction are scheduled from July to September 2026.
