The Positive Effects of the Anti-Narcotics Law in Var
Updated on 06/16/2026
On the occasion of the first anniversary of the Law aimed at freeing France from the trap of narcotics trafficking, the Prefect of Var, together with the prosecutors from Toulon and Draguignan, present a progress report on actions undertaken in the department and the subsequent judicial follow-ups.
This presentation follows the security coordination meeting on "narcotics trafficking" with the interdepartmental director of the National Police, the commander of the Var gendarmerie group, the regional director of Customs and Indirect Taxes, the heads of the two penitentiary establishments in Var, the director of the CAF, the departmental director of Public Finance, the Maritime Gendarmerie, and the Var Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCIV) security officer.
In addition to the new police powers granted to prefects, the law of 13 June 2025 has strengthened the fight against narcotics in the department and enabled adaptation to new forms of trafficking.
